Rather than spend the time to describe each picture, I will let them speak for themselves. Please comment on the pictures so we can share interpretations!
I really like the picture that says Patience: the door will open. It is funny, but also very meaningful. It is meaningful because we need to be patient when teaching students because the door (to their understanding) may not open as fast as we expected or wanted. It is definitely something we need to mindful while teaching, which I know is why you picked that specific picture.
I wanted to comment on the One Step at a Time picture. I am not entirely certain how the sleeping cat relates, but I am completely in agreement with the approach. In kindergarten, this is our mantra. We have so many beautiful lessons to share with the kids, so much we want to share with them, but we can't get to the lessons when they don't know how to sit in a chair. My CT taught this awesome literacy lesson which had students cutting out certain words and taping them around the room. One boy used the scissors to cut off a girl's pigtail. Scissor rules would have been a great preface to this lesson . . . one step at a time.
Also, what on earth is happening in your "spare time" video?
Your poster on diversity is really the one that stood out to me as I was looking through the pictures that you posted. Although I do think that ethnic diversity is extremely important to teach about and instill in students acceptance and respect when it comes to this aspect of diversity, I think it is equally important to teach about diversity in other aspects of our lives as well. Diversity does not just have to deal with our skin color, it has to do with so much more of what makes us all individuals. Hopefully this is an idea that I will be sure to remeber when teaching in my future classrooms.
I am currently attending Western Washington University and am part of the Woodring College of Education. I am an intern at Northern Heights Elementary for a 4th grade classroom. My cooperating teacher is Mrs. "Ski," who I absolutely enjoy working with!!

I always like the idea that teaching and learning are one in the same.
Also, I've found many times in my life that I learn things best when I am teaching them.
